In 1937, C. Carey Cloud created four different
Finger Faces, for Cracker Jack. These were
one of the first toys, that he created
in his long career of making prizes for Cracker Jack. Printed on perforated cardstock. There is a Dancing Doll, a Clown, a Jester, and an Elephant. The child would remove the doll, from the card, and push out the finger holes. The child's wiggling fingers are then used to make dancing feet of a Dutch girl, a powerful elephant's trunk, a jester's sharp tongue, or a clown's funny nose. The photo on the right is C. Carey Cloud demonstrating/playing with his toy, 42 years after it's creation. Showing that you can never be too old to play, and no toy is too old to be played with. |
